IQ And Environment :: essays research papers
IQ and environment It is obvious that a persons intelligence stems from a variety of traits. The task of trying to quantify a persons intelligence has been a culture of psychologists since before the beginning of this century. One of the important questions that always comes up regarding these tools is what ar the block outs re every last(predicate)y measuring? Are they measuring a persons intelligence? Their ability to perform well on standardized tests? Or just some arbitrary quantity of the persons IQ? When examining the situations around which these tests argon given and the content of the tests themselves, it becomes appargonnt that however effectual the tests may be for standardizing a groups intellectual ability, they ar not a good indicator of intelligence.A persons environment has a great impact on cognitive abilities. We all perceive situations oppositely, which is not the only factor to take in to consideration, further it is a very important one. Is the light fli ckering? Is the paint on the walls an un fructifytling shade? Is the temperature too hot or too cold? Is the take uncomfortable? Or in the worst case, do they have an indisposition that day? To test a persons mind, it is necessary to engage their body in the process. If everyones body is placed in different conditions during the interrogatory, how is it expected to get standardized results across all the subjects? Everyone has good old age and bad days. It is highly unlikely that everyone will be equally inclined(p) for the exam as well as adjusted to the new testing environment. Becauseof this assumption that everyone will perform equally independent of their environment, intelligence test scores are skewed and cannot be viewed as standardized, and definitely not as an example of a persons intelligence.Although intelligence tests are the same for everyone who takes it, the information that one is being tested on is coition to the environment in which they were raised. To real ly gauge a persons intelligence, it would be necessary to put them through a rigorous set of real-life trials and document their performance. Physical intelligence, conversational intelligence, social intelligence, survival intelligence, and the slew of others are apart of our everyday lives.
