Such a small item, the hankie plays a spectacular role as its meaning various passim the play. From who make the hanky, to what it is do of, to what is means to different characters, The hankey that was made of stain virgin blood was once upon a beat Othellos mother, who used it to keep his father faithful to her. So when Othellos first gift to Desdemona is the handkerchief he sees it as espousal fidelity and Desdemona sees it as a token of their contend. The handkerchief at this point has a pure meaning is make exuberant with the love between the two. Iago k straightawaying that the handkerchief meant so ofttimes to the twain of them, he set in motion a picture that eventually tainted the handkerchief. Using it as an unfaithfulness item, he plants the handkerchief in Cassios room, as if Desdemona leftoer it on that point after having an affair with Cassio. Now Othello believes Iagos stories of infidelity by Desdemona, because when questioned about it she lies due to her distraught over losing it.

The handkerchief is now a symbol of Desdemona herself, and though Othello neer had proof of infidelity, he believes she is unfaithful and their love is lost hardly as the handkerchief is. This madness is what pushes him to kill Desdemona. All it took was the cast of the handkerchief from when Othello and Desdemona were talk of the town and Emilia finding it afterwards. The handkerchief that represented their love and fidel ity towards one another was except dropped ! on the fundament.
